Andrea Compton is a dedicated and highly skilled Chartered Accountant with over two decades of experience in both infrastructure finance and accounting. A proud Wellingtonian, Andrea was raised in the Northern Suburbs and educated at Victoria University, where she completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration, majoring in Accounting, Commercial Law, and Management. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting.

Since becoming a Chartered Accountant in 2005, Andrea has accumulated significant expertise working in New Zealand and internationally, contributing to some of the country’s most prominent infrastructure projects. Her professional journey spans across a range of senior roles, providing her with the skills and vision to make informed, impactful decisions for the community.

Professional Experience

• Financial Controller, Westfield Stratford (London 2012): Oversaw financial management for one of the largest developments associated with the London 2012 Olympic Games.

• Financial Controller, Honeywell (London 2012): Managed financial oversight for critical security infrastructure during the 2012 Olympic Games.

• Transpower New Zealand: Contributed to national energy infrastructure through various senior finance roles over an eight-year period.

• Transmission Gully, iReX, and Te Ara Tupua: As Finance Manager, Andrea played a pivotal role in the financial management of these transformative infrastructure projects in New Zealand.

• Group Financial Controller, Strait NZ: Andrea oversaw the finances for one of New Zealand’s leading logistics and transport providers, including the recent purchase of their new ship, the Livia.

 

With her background in managing complex financial frameworks for large-scale infrastructure projects, Andrea brings a depth of knowledge and experience that will serve the community well.

In addition to her career, Andrea has been actively involved in social netball and has volunteered as Treasurer and Grants Officer for the Mana Parents Centre, helping first-time parents navigate the challenges of early parenthood.
