Lily Brown (Independent Candidate for Western-Onslow/Wharangi Ward) and I collaborated on a short video about STV and the Mayoral vote.
Key messages:
For a mayor to be elected, they require 50% of the vote plus 1. This doesn’t usually happen in the first round of counting.
Ranking matters! Don’t rank everyone, only those whom you want to represent you.
3 is a good number of choices!
